Safely Enjoy the Sun
Ahhh… the summer! Sunshine, beaches, outdoor activities.
If you’re heading outdoors this weekend, our skincare experts have some great tips for keeping your skin protected from the sun’s harmful rays. Even if your goal is to get a suntan, protection should still be at the top of your list.
Here’s what experts had to say:
Don’t Skip Sun Block on Overcast Days
Regardless of how cloudy the sky is, sun block is always a must. Sun exposure may cause skin cancer and result in aging skin with dark sun spots and wrinkles. Dermatologists recommend using sun block lotions with no less than SPF 30 and reapplying every two hours–especially when sweating or swimming.
Luckily, sun damage can be reversed, thanks to the healing power of Rosemary Leaf and Sweet Almond essential oils.
Use Mineral Sunscreen Daily
Sunscreen is not a luxury, it’s a necessity. I recommend wearing a zinc-based sunscreen on your face daily. Zinc-oxide is a great sunscreen ingredient because it protects against both UVA and UVB damage. And if you are worried about not getting enough Vitamin D, I recommend taking it orally
