Healthy Homemade Facials to Rehydrate During Summer

Pampered SkinEven if the sun’s rays haven’t left you with nasty sunburn, they can still leave your skin feeling dry and looking flaky or scaly – yuck!

So, I asked skincare experts to share their thoughts on how to moisturize sun-dried skin to reveal a healthy, beautiful glow.

Beauty and Style Expert, Tiffany Hendra of www.SanctuaryOfStyle.net shared these great recipes for homemade facials that you can use this summer:

We all probably have a few key items in our pantry or fridge to concoct several facial masks to rehydrate and soothe our skin during the heat of summer.

Two simple ingredients: Ripe Avocado & Lemon Juice. Mash a few tablespoons of avocado very well and add a tablespoon of lemon juice. Very healing and moisturizing. You may want to grab a tortilla chip and eat right off your face!

Plain Greek Yogurt & Honey. A few tablespoons of yogurt and a tablespoon of honey. The honey may need to be heated up in the microwave for a few seconds to soften. The yogurt is extremely moisturizing as well as cleansing. The live active cultures detox the skin of impurities. Honey is an amazing moisturizer.

Pumpkin. I had a slice of pumpkin pie left over from the 4th of July festivities and you can take a few tablespoons and rub all over your face. The enzymes in pumpkin are great for exfoliating, nourishing and moisturizing for the skin.

Olive Oil. This is an all over cure-all. Great as a hot oil treatment for the hair. Dab on cuticles and elbows. Would be great if we could just fill the bathtub up with olive oil, hold our nose and dunk all the way under.

Thanks so much to Beauty and Style Expert, Tiffany Hendra of www.SanctuaryOfStyle.net for these recipes!
