Skin Care Tips for your 30’s from Real Women

Starting good skin care habits in your 30s will lead to softer, smoother, wrinkle-free skin in your 50s and 60s.  Here is how 4 real women take care of their skin:

Kara says – “I wear a mostly chemical-free sunscreen every day and I moisturize a lot with a balm that I make myself: It’s a blend of shea, cocoa butters, and essential oils.  I try to eat organic and low-carb.  A glass of red wine at night helps too!  I also do yoga and cycle.  I think the key is not to take life too seriously.”

Malissa says – “I’ve always like to use natural products when it comes to my skin.  I remove my makeup and moisturize at night with pure vitamin E or jojoba oil.  Twice a year I treat myself to a facial but, when I don’t feel like spending the money, I make my own face mask.  I mix together whole organic yogurt and honey and leave it on for 15 minutes.  It makes my skin feel super-soft.”

Letena says – When I was younger, I would watch – completely fascinated – as my aunt put on her face cream.  I was taught to moisturize right after a shower and now I don’t leave the house without putting on lotions head-to-toe.  I have oily skin so I wash my face every morning and night with a salicylic acid cleanser, which also helps control my breakouts.”

Sahar syas – “I wash my face with a cleansing scrub morning and night and, every week or so, I use a mud mask as a spot treatment on breakouts or an oily T-zone.  Exfoliation is a family ritual in Afghanistan, where I was born.  A few times a month you use a cloth glove called a ‘kesa’ on each other’s backs.  I have a softer one called a ‘leef’ that my great-aunt crocheted that I use on my face and body.”
