Reduce Stress While Treating Your Skin

Healthy SkinAs we continue through National Skin Care Awareness Month we asked our panel of expert contributors if they would share some of their best stress busting advice as it pertains to our skin.

Often times when we are experiencing high levels of stress in our lives, the first place we show signs is on our skin. We may break out, dry out, or appear tired around our eyes. Stress seems to be rather commonplace in our society today. Take a look at the following advice and learn how you can pamper your skin and reduce stress simultaneously!

Acupuncture is the number one skin treatment for reducing stress and is also fantastic at addressing both acute and chronic skin conditions. These conditions include but are not limited to: wrinkles, liver spots, sagging skin, poor elasticity, eczema, rosacea, acne, sun damage and advanced aging.

20% of your skins appearance is from your personal DNA. 80% is influenced by the choices you make. Internal stressors caused by strong emotions (stress being the most common), coupled with poor diet and lifestyle choices (dehydration, smoking, few fruits and vegetables, excessive alcohol consumption), and environmental influences (like excessive sun exposure) contribute to the health of your skin. To enable your skin to reflect health and beauty on the outside, you must reduce the stress on the inside of your body.

More good news about Acupuncture for gorgeous skin: Acupuncture increase the production of collagen and balances hormones thereby smoothing wrinkles, increasing muscle tone and improving elasticity helping to firm skin tone revealing a radiant new you.
