Makeup Tips for Mature Skin
Aging skin goes through many changes and often times we experience a bit of irritation from our skin becoming dry and sensitive. As our bodies change, so must our makeup routine. The tried and true techniques we have used for years can sometimes expire and no longer work the magic they once did on our cheeks, eyes, and lips.
If you struggle with this type of irritation, try using one of the following sensitive skin makeup tips from our expert contributor, Reena Mariel, who shares with us her advice that will give you some added moisture in your makeup routine.
Makeup Tips for Mature Skin
Mature skin tends to get dry and sensitive, so it is important to have a good skin care routine first. Moisturizing your skin daily will help your makeup adhere smoothly.
1. Choose a light reflecting foundation and use a concealer to hide imperfections. Choose a foundation that has moisturizing properties. Set your make up with translucent powder.
2. Opt for a natural look when it comes to eye make up.
3. Choose a cream blush instead of a powder one. Cream blushes are great for dry skin. Apply it on the apples of your cheeks and you’ll definitely have a beautiful flush.
4. Always apply lip balm first so that your lips will be moisturized and ready for lipstick. Choose shades that are natural in order to have a more youthful appearance. Shades like light pink, peaches and apricots do the trick. Choose nude shades that are close to your lip color.
