When Life Gives You Lemons… Make A Lemon Face Mask!

As a lifestyle blogger who focuses on Health & Beauty tips, techniques, and advice, I’ve been the ultimate product junkie – trying everything from expensive cosmeceuticals to organic solutions. Over the course of time playing the beauty guinea pig game, I’ve learned that some of the most effective products can be found in your kitchen. For healthy, youthful skin and wrinkle-minimizing results, I rely on lemon juice. Mother Nature provides an abundance of healthy alternatives to harsh chemicals and man-made treatments, that not only work effectively, but cost next to nothing.

To create a skin clarifying facial mask that leaves you with healthy, youthful skin, you’ll need only 2 ingredients:

  • 1 Egg (egg whites only)
  • 1/2 Lemon.

This is a great at-home DIY treatment for acne-prone and oily skin. The egg whites have astringent properties and reduce oil, while the lemon juice is antibacterial and is known to be a skin-brightener. This all-natural treatment reduces pore size and oil, minimizes blemishes and blackheads, unclogs pores, and brightens skin.

Using only the egg whites, beat in a bowl until fluffy. Then squeeze the juice of 1/2 lemon into the egg. Mix ingredients together completely. Apply solution with fingers onto face (avoiding eye area). Let mask dry for about 15 minutes. Wash face thoroughly with warm water and/or damp washcloth.
